Guadalentin Valley and Spring Migrants by Barry Chambers

Eddie and myself did a trip to Guadalentin on Friday 13th March, the morning weather was overcast with poor visibility but it improved after midday, we saw a number of migrants and a reasonable total of other species.

Some of the birds seen:- 2 Little Bustards (males), 4 Great Spotted Cuckoos, Short Toed Eagle, Hen Harrier, 6 Marsh Harriers (inc 2 males), Calandra Larks, Lesser Short toed Larks, Merlin, Water Pipit, 3 Little Ringed Plovers, Ravens, Black Bellied Sandgrouse, 10 Stone Curlews, Swallows, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 4 Spectacled Warblers, Whinchat, Bee eaters. In all we identified  49 species
