Benejuzar, Guardarmar

27/5/22 – Today we found our way to Benejuzar in the hope of seeing Golden Orioles but no luck sadly. We have since discovered we may have been in the wrong place, or at least there was a better place which we didn’t know about. We did, however hear numerous Nightingales and one even posed for photos! Turtle Doves were also seen and heard and 3 Woodchat Shrikes made brief appearances. In the trees we saw Serin, Long-tailed Tit, Goldfinch, Greenfinch and a Red-legged Partridge.

Moving on to Guardarmar several Cattle Egrets and Glossy Ibis were seen flying along with many Swifts.

A quick coffee stop at Guardarmar marina gave us Audouin’s Gull and a Marsh Harrier was seen from the N332 as we left Guardarmar.
