Today was a beautiful day for birding. We searched the Carrizales / Vistabella, but again no Sociable Plover. We were happy to see Greater Spotted Eagle, a flock of Tree Sparrows, singing Corn Buntings, Buzzard, a Booted Eagle with very conspicuous “landing lights”, Marsh Harrier, and far away a great swarm of Glossy Ibis. Those we wanted to see closer, so we took the road from Vistabella – El Pinet to Dolores, where a lot of land was blanketed with water: the Ibises, lots of Cattle Egrets, a lonely Green Sandpiper, several Mediterranean Gulls. After that El Pinet. The most exiting bird was the Water Rail, looking for food close to the board walk. Back home via Vistabella. Again a flooded field, an awful lot of White Wagtails, and some Meadow Pipits.
