This morning, at Moralet, between San Vicente and Agost, a party of 6 Lesser Kestrels passed over, diving and catching insects. A Golden Eagle was perched nearby calling.

Only one bird of note on the PFT, but that was a beautiful Black-shouldered Kite. On Sunday, there was a Knot on the Salinas.
Had a ride up to Monnegre, where there was very little, but took half an hour on the bridge, overlooking the stream, where I found two Grey Wagtails, a Cetti’s Warbler and a Subalpine Warbler.
On the University Campus, there was a huge gathering of hirundines, and the vast majority, surprisingly, were Red-rumped Swallows, hundreds of them! There were also both Spotted and Pied Flycatcher, and the first autumn Blackcap.
Message received from Don Grant:- “After a few weeks away the Sacred Ibis (or perhaps another specimen) has returned to the Pego rice fields.”
On the PFT, hundreds of Yellow Wagtails, then a Red-footed Falcon, female or juvenile, chasing flying insects. At the Visitor Centre, the furthest hide was good, with lots of waders including a summer plumage Temminck’s Stint and a Marsh Sandpiper. Lots … Continued

For the past two weeks there has been an irruption at about 7.45pm of between 200 and 250 ducks onto one of the four remaining clear rice fields on Pego Marshes – most of them are Gadwall – they disappear … Continued
At midday today I was lucky enough to have brilliant views of an Eleanora’s Falcon (light phase) cruising up and down the valley next to Granadella, near Javea.
Today from the 2nd hide along the Vista Bella Road I had good views of the Lesser Flamingo.
