For the first time this year, my very own Scops Owl, near Agost – at least the female of the pair – had a little burst of song this morning. I suppose the male couldn’t be bothered. Know the feeling!

While hanging washing out (yes I have been domesticated) this morning, heard gulls making a racket, turned around to see White Stork only 20yards away.
At El Hondo Visitor´s Centre we saw; several Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Alpine Swift, lots of Pallid and Common Swifts, Sand Martin, Barn Swallow, Red rumped Swallow, House Martin, Reed and Great Reed Warbler, Booted Eagle, a pair of Purple Swamp-hens feeding … Continued
A short time spent at The Visitors Centre today produced the following; 21 Collared Pratincoles, 23 Marbled Teals, several Little Ringed Plovers a large influx of Common Swifts plus calling Reed and Great Reed Warblers.
Today at Encebres (Pinoso) our first Cuckoo of the year! (Editors note: The first Cuckoo of the year was notified as seen on Monday at Los Montesinos by visiting birder Paul Coombes.)
Not a lot about, but my first Common Tern on the Salinas, lots of Moustached and Reed Warblers singing on the Convenio. I got this snap of Spoonbills – quite a few are ringed, I note.

Today from the second hide along the Vista Bella Road I saw 20+ Tufted Ducks, 1 Red Knobbed Coot and a pair of Bearded Tits, along the boardwalk at least 5 Moustached Warblers were singing of which I saw two.

This morning I had 2 Great Spotted Cuckoos to the east side of the road from the PFT. Little on the PFT, but Moustached Warblers were singing near the gate on the Convenio (2 males at least).
