This morning at Faro del Guardamar I had great views of the Surf Scoter, I attach a few photos, unfortunately as the Scoter moved closer towards in my camera died!!!!!
This morning I had great views of a Black Shouldered Kite, very obliging. Note: Barry also caught up with some Waxwings when he was in England over Xmas.
We have received reports of a Black-winged Kite seen around the El Hondo area on 11th January. If anyone else sees the bird we would love to hear from you.
Of interest this morning on the previously flooded field behind the visitor centre at San Felipe were 4 Woodlark. Not far from the North Gate to El Hondo at least a dozen Booted Eagles were circling on thermals
Barry – This morning along the Rio Segura in Rojales, at the rear of the Salud there were around 20 Common Waxbills. Malcolm – I had a group of Crossbills and a pair of Ravens at Xorret de Catí.
There was a Caspian Tern on the Salinas today.
