Sightings/Spring Migrants – El Hondo – Edward Humphreys

I visited the red route this morning. A superb Booted Eagle posing on a dead tree on the main drive to the viewing gallery was a great start. A Cuckoo called regularly and then landed briefly on a branch above us as we walked to the hides. Little Bittern (SM) ‘barked’ in reeds next to the main drive. Lots of Avocet and Whiskered Terns (SM) were seen from the tower plus two Bluethroat showing below us. There were 5 Collared Pratincole (SM) near the main reserve visitor centre with 4 Little Stint
