Sunday 8th May – On a morning drive around our usual route we saw quite a few but the birds weren’t very cooperative. They didn’t want to be photographed. A male Hen Harrier flew over the Monastery road. Roller and Bee-eater in the same place, 2 Common Cuckoo and a pair of Great Spotted Cuckoo, Serin, Woodchat Shrike, Iberian Grey Shrike, 6 Little Egret along the canal, Green Woodpecker, Sardinian Warbler and a snake.

Wednesday 11th May – Spent a few hours around our local area with friends. At the salinas were Common Tern, Pochard and Shoveler. We then went to El Pinet where we saw several Collared Pratincole, Avocet, Slender-billed Gull and Black Winged Stilts. At the monastery road we saw Roller, Bee-eater, Little Owl, Iberian Grey Shrike and Turtle Dove, about seven feeding on the road, plus Common Cuckoo and Magpie.
