Michael sent this photo to Malcolm and we thought it might be of interest to others.
We’ve lived here six years and are by no means twitchers, but enjoy knowing what we are looking at. For several months we have had around ten Bee eaters regularly flying around, sometimes very close, and are enjoying this unusual scene. We also put up a Kestrel box after a pair nested on the back of our solar panel two years ago. Last year at least one successfully fledged. This year we are carefully watching if all five succeed.
