Monnegre – Paul License

Paul sent in another report, this time from Monnegre. He says:-

“I was at Monnegre today and saw a large party of Griffon Vultures. My first bird was a solitary grey-billed juvenile. Then I saw four, being chased off by a Bonelli’s Eagle. This was at the entrance to the valley which is recommended for the latter. It was around 9.30. An hour or so later I counted 16 around the north end of the valley. Seven of them settled on a cliff (the one bordering the Tibi road) and I was able to see at least three of them had yellow tags. A few were still in the air when I left around two hours later. I don’t know if this is unusual but I hadn’t read of their presence outside the Alcoy area.”
