Palm Farm Track, Vistabella Road, El Pinet – Malcolm Palmer

This morning the PFT was a BFZ (bird-free-zone) unless you count one miserable-looking Buzzard, a Kingfisher and a Song Thrush or two. From the Vistabella Road, however, the one squishy patch had a few Ruff, lots of Dunlin, a few Lapwings, a Bar-tailed Godwit, and two birds that may just have been Knot, but were a very long way away. 3 Common Cranes flew over and a nice Booted Eagle was perched close to the road. At El Pinet, on the sea – nothing! On the Reserve, dozens of Grey Herons, nowt else!
