Pego Marshes – Mike Jeffrey

A day out around Pego Marshes this week was fairly quiet, the fields having been drained, but we did see Water Pipits, a Great White Egret and lots of Cattle and Little Egrets too. Kestrels, Booted Eagles and Marsh Harriers were seen along with a spectacular display by a Short-toed/Snake Eagle which happened to catch a snake while we were watching and then got mobbed by a Buzzard. A great half an hour’s entertainment.
