Pego Osprey Project

Peter Alden sent in a cutting from the local newspaper, which I have summarised here.

One of the four Osprey chicks reintroduced to the Pego-oliva marshes has sadly been killed as a result of flying into an electricity pylon. Of the remaining three birds two have migrated to Africa and the third has stayed in Spain, moving to the flooded paddy fields near Valencia. Four more chicks are set to be introduced in 2020 in an attempt to create a breeding colony for the area.
