I nearly didn’t get past the Salinas, as I got out of the car it was 5º and felt a lot less. But I persisted and, Paul having told me that there were irrigations along the PFT, I went and found:- around 300 Lapwings, 60 Golden Plover, 2 Wood Sandpiper, 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Ruff (reeve) and 2 Snipe.
About a million White Wagtails – I think the whole of the world’s population is in Alicante just now. Lots of Bluethroat, Water and Meadow Pipits and 1 Grey Wagtail. Then at the start of the Consorcio, I flushed a Jack Snipe.
