Rojales to Guardarmar, Santa Pola Salinas, San Felipe – Barry Chambers

Yesterday 1st March – A 50 minute walk along the Segura from Rojales towards Guadamar produced the following – 2 Penduline Tits, Booted Eagle, Common Buzzard, 2 Snipe, Iberian Green Woodpecker, Stonechat, Cetti’s Warbler, Meadow Pipit, Swallow  Long tailed Tit, Southern Grey Shrike.

 Today 2nd March – Salinas Santa Pola – Spoonbill, Gadwall, Whiskered Tern (migrant).

Visitors Centre El Hondo – Spotted Crake from the platform on the boardwalk and two young ladies, one from Holland the other from Belgium, had seen and photographed two other Spotted Crakes at the beginning of the boardwalk. Two Pallid Swifts (migrant).
