San Felipe – Malcolm Palmer

Cold! At the El Hondo Visitor Centre, the place was alive with Chiffchaffs and Crag Martins feeding at ground level, a flooded field near ‘the fence’ had a good flock of Glossy Ibis, a few Lapwings, rather less Golden Plover, 5 Bar-tailed Godwits, lots of Dunlin and a Ringed Plover. Red-knobbed Coot seem to be doing well – there are several unmarked birds with knobs now. At the Camino lo Chicharro, an adult Greater Spotted Eagle flew over (‘NotTönn’) and I located it again near the South Gate. Also a good flock of Little Stint there.
