Santa Pola, El Hondo area

On our drive around yesterday we didn’t see much at pallet or monastery roads apart from Iberian Grey Shrikes. At the tracks things were a little better, a Buzzard and Kestrel sat on a pylon, a few Greenfinches on a field, two Kingfisher darting about the canals. Then on to PFT, three Grey Heron flew up from the ditch as we drove by, a Little Owl was enjoying the sunshine on the roof of an old barn, the Yellow Wagtail have disappeared to be replaced with White Wagtail, as we were watching them we didn’t notice a Female Hen Harrier flying alongside. Didn’t have time to replace the bins with my camera, so no photo. There was still one lone Wheatear on the field to the right, and several Marsh Harriers about.
