Sierra Bernia – Mike Jeffrey

Here are some photos taken at the Fernat Cave on the (fantastic) Sierra Bernia walk. Two Alpine Accentors were ringed and I wonder if you know who to pass the sighting onto. (Note: Malcolm has passed the information on to a local ringer he knows and we’ve now received information about bird C1 – see below.) I also saw 48 Choughs, a Blue Rock Thrush and an Iberian Grey Shrike.

It is a great walk but very tough. Having said that, I feel the Alpine Accentors would be there all the time as I think they are used to feeding off of the scraps of food left by all the walkers having their lunch at the cave entrance. They were also very approachable.
