Yecla – Malcolm Palmer

Cold up on the ZEPA at Yecla at first, but heat-haze by the time we came away! We had to work for what we saw – just one solitary Black-bellied Sandgrouse, perhaps twenty Pin-tailed Sandgrouse, a Golden Eagle being mobbed by Crows, a Buzzard, literally hundreds of Calandra Larks, a Mistle Thrush and that was about it. No sign of Great Bustards, and we covered a fair bit of ground.
