Today we visited Belvide Reservoir after quite a long absence. It was great to get out after all the cold and wet weather here and we are told to expect a heatwave from tomorrow!

All the usual suspects were around the plantation and on the reservoir and we were happy to add some new birds to our year list, namely Sedge Warbler, Brambling and Treecreeper.

Species list – Great Crested Grebe, Cormorant, Mute Swan, Canada Goose, Mallard, Gadwall, Shoveler, Pochard, Tufted Duck, Goldeneye, Pheasant, Coot, Moorhen, Oystercatcher, Common Sandpiper, Lapwing, Black headed Gull, Herring Gull, Woodpigeon, Dunnock, Robin, Wren, Blackbird, Sedge Warbler, Chiffchaff, Long tailed Tit, BlueTit, Great Tit, Treecreeper, Nuthatch, Jay, Jackdaw, Tree Sparrow, Brambling, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Reed Bunting.
