Belvide

2Jun - 1We have not had much time for birding since we got back to the UK, but on Monday we had a short walk round Belvide to see what was about. The woodland held all the usual species including a few old favourites, such as,Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jay, and Nuthatch, although we have now seen these three species from our caravan window! We also saw a nice Song Thrush both at Belvide and at our caravan park. A couple of birds were added to my year list, namely, Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler. The reservoir held plenty of Great Crested Grebes, Tufted Ducks and a few Gadwall amongst other things, and a few Common Terns and the odd Oystercatcher were seen on the Tern rafts. Let’s hope we can get out for a bit more birding in the weeks to come.
