Carabassi Beach and El Clot

22Nov-2Today we decided to have a quick drive round the local area to see what birds were about. A look at the beach by the little church found us Cormorant, Sandwich Tern, Turnstone and a White Wagtail. A visit to the main pool at the Clot revealed that the algae has now all gone and the winter visitors, such as, a large group of Teal and 5 or 6 Shovelers were in residence. The usual Moorhens and Coots also put in an appearance along with more White Wagtails and a Yellow Wagtail flew by. At the ‘new’ hide 2 Snipe were being photographed by a Spanish birder and about 30 Goldfinches were moving around in the vegetation. A Southern Grey Shrike showing well at the top of a nearby tree, completed our little list, but another nice walk with a few birds ‘thrown in’ had been enjoyed. Happy Days!
