El Clot, El Pinet – Geoff Culliford

Last Thursday I picked up my best birding friend David from Wiltshire for a 4fpurday birding bash. On the way to the airport I found a Northern Wheatear at the old monastery. He arrived at 5.30pm so straight over to El Clot. He spotted a Pied Flycatcher by one hide. He was amazed to see four Night herons, three Little Bitterns, White Headed Ducks and Marbled Teal.

Next stop was El Pinet he was amazed again to see so many Collared Pratincoles, Gulls and Terns and then two Stone Curlew dropped in for a bonus. He had set me a target of 100 which was going to be so easy. Airport run was 41.
