El Clot – Mark Etheridge

posted in: Birders Reports | 0

First visit to the Clot this autumn, lots of water about after all the floods. Lots of birds about too, but not very co-operative. Down at the dry hide, seven Hoopoes making quite a racket, but couldn’t entice them out to get a good portrait. One flypast Bluethroat, two Blackcap, Robins, the main pool only had Coots, Moorhens and Mallard.

Photos – Cattle Egret in a tree! Not something you see every day…, Another bird in a tree – a Kingfisher down at the dry hide. Never seen one here before, either this one or another one was also in the reeds but only for a split second, didn’t get that one! One of at least three Marsh Harriers down at the dry hide.
