El Hondo area – Malcolm Palmer

I snook out, at last this morning, and apart from a big flock of Tree Sparrows, there was little of note on the PFT, but I walked down Convenio to see if Moustached Warbler were singing (they weren’t) and heard three times distinctly the boom of Bittern, the first I have heard at Hondo for about twenty years. I know that sound too well to be mistaken.
