Went for our usual boxing day tradition, took our mince pies and flask of coffee, and did some birding on the way. Grey Wagtail, Robin, Hoopoe, Blackbird, Booted Eagle, Stonechat, Grey Heron, Goldfinch, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard, Sardinian Warbler, Black Redstart, Little Owl, Magpie, Kingfisher, Song Thrush, Kestrel, a flooded field with Lapwing, Meadow Pipit, White Wagtail, Little Egret and Snipe in. A Little Bittern ambled across the track in front of us and into the reeds. A pair of Snipe in the canal enjoying each others company!! Several Bluethroat, one which came right up to our car door, too close to get a photo, and a Green Sandpiper. Happy Boxing day.
