El Hondo fields – Greta Owen

A good morning birding this morning, 20 plus raptors of sorts, Buzzard, Booted Eagle, Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier, Kestrel. They seem to be everywhere. 15 Magpie on the wires by the monastery, never seen so many together. Several flocks of Glossy Ibis flew over, four Cranes making their way to El Hondo, a Green Woodpecker, two Hoopoe and what looked like some sort of Swift flying over vistabella road. Met a very nice Dutch couple out on a walk. Weather OK but not very bright, not good for photos.
