Lovely day weather wise today and a good day for birding. Pallet road – Sardinian Warbler, Greenfinch, Green Woodpecker, Siskin, Partridge, Kestrel, Goldfinch, Booted Eagle, Blackcap female and Linnet. Moved on to the Monastery road – Blue Rock Thrush still on the monastery, Magpie, Little Owl on the hut, a flock of what I thought could be Lapwing flew across in the distance, Buzzard, Black Redstart, Stonechat and Meadow Pipit. Only a Kingfisher along the parallel track then on to PFT where I saw 3 more Kingfishers and while I was looking at a Kingfisher, 3 Cranes took flight. Other birds were Crested Lark, Little Egret, Robin, White Wagtail and a Marsh Harrier. They had just started to flood the fields but nothing on them as yet. Another Kingfisher on the canal wall. Grey Heron and a Green Sandpiper were on the canal wall down the alley. A Great White Egret and a lot of Black-winged Stilts on the salinas.
