El Hondo/San Felipe – Juha Lehtinen

posted in: Birders Reports | 0

Yesterday at El Hondo. Huge amounts of waterfowl, over a thousand Shoveler, hundreds of Teal, plus Pochard and Red-Crested Pochards. Fifty White-headed Ducks. Ten Pintail and Garganey. About twenty Booted Eagles and 5-6 Marsh Harriers. There was too little time to stay in the North Gate area. (And most of the birds too far away.) Some Red-knobbed Coot and Glossy Ibis near the information centre. Nice start for the trip in Spain.
