El Pinet and El Hondo fields – Malcolm Palmer

Gloria has done for the beach at El Pinet – gone! And the road past La Raja is not passable. Had Tree Sparrows and a Song Thrush at the old Monastery, huge flocks of Linnets on the palm farm track, also very skittish flocks of Lapwing with a few Golden Plover and the odd Wood Sandpiper flying off when frequent visits from Booted Eagles and Marsh Harriers upset them. A Sparrowhawk flying high near the rather desolate airport, where more Linnets and a few Skylarks were seen.
