On Friday Eddie Walker (no relation) and I did some local spots, highlights were:
La Finca –White headed Duck and a dozen Shoveller on the reservoir, flocks of Chaffinch and Meadow Pipit feeding on the fairways, and an Iberian Green Woodpecker flew across and perched on an olive tree.
Guardamar Marina – several hundred Black headed Gulls by the breakwater and in large rafts out to sea, a fine Whimbrel which did several flypasts and dined on crabs, a Cormorant feeding on an eel, a Grey Heron, a Common Sandpiper, plus two Razorbill out at sea.
El Pinet – fairly quiet but a Water Pipit near the first hide, Ringed Plover, Auduins Gull.
