We spent our final day of the year strolling along the promenade at La Mata and visiting the very beautiful Molino de Agua. Whilst enjoying a beer and pizza overlooking the very calm sea, I caught sight of a diver. By the time I had got bins on it it had moved on, not spending more than a couple of seconds above water before diving and emerging further away. Definitely not Red-throated, so my guess from the lack of any white (difficult against the sun) is Great Northern.
Again, to make the most of the late afternoon sun, I returned to El Pinet to look for Stone Curlew which I had not had time to search for on the previous visit. At least 13 on view, along with at least 5 Little Stint again.
