6th January – A lovely Blue Rock Thrush came to pose for me today on our neighbour’s roof, a fine specimen he is too. I was lucky to get some nice views of a Booted Eagle on my way to the towers at Lo Chicharro along with the Common Snipe.

31st December – There must have been about 200 Glossy Ibis in a flooded field near Lo Chicharro this morning and in amongst them was a solitary Common Snipe that hunkered down in the dry mud. I had a lovely couple of hours in the sun today.
