Maigmo

Today we had a trip up to the Maigmo mountain. After a coffee stop and a walk in Tibi we proceeded up the mountain admiring all the blossom trees on the way.

We had a look around and saw Crag Martins flying above. A small bird in a tree was, I think, a Tree Pipit.

We had our lunch on a picnic table and several species of Tit flew into nearby trees, including Coat Tit, Long-tailed Tit and a single Crested Tit. That was the bird we had gone for. We had put food out on another table but only a Chaffinch came to get that.

We had a little walk into the trees, and John spotted a bird on the ground, which proved to be a Rock Bunting. Always an excellent bird to see.

On our way back down the mountain, we saw a red squirrel on a tree trunk and a brief stop enabled us to add a Short-toed Treecreeper to our list. A number of other species were seen during the journeys to and from the area

Species list – Kestrel, Little Egret, Tree Pipit, Sardinian Warbler, Long-tailed Tit, Crested Tit, Coal Tit, Short-toed Treecreeper, Magpie, Chaffinch, Serin, Rock Bunting, Crag Martin.
