Mar Menor – Darren Wilson

Today’s escapades took me first to Portman and it’s environs. Although beautiful as ever, bird life was thin on the ground except for Red-legged Partridge, Thekla Lark and a distant adult Bonelli’s Eagle. On my return journey, I stopped in at the marshes south of Estrella de Mar. Birds of prey were evident. At least 5 Buzzard, 4 Marsh Harrier and 3 Kestrel were present. Two Bluethroat briefly gave good views before never being seen again. This Whimbrel was also still loitering in Los Urrutias.
