Mary’s Blog – El Hondo fields and San Felipe

Today we had another drive across the fields to San Felipe. A Great White Egret on the Salinas was new and there was a flock of Meadow Pipits on the Pallet Road. Not much else that was new until we called at El Pinet on the way home. There we had great views of a small group of Black-tailed Godwits feeding on the lagoon by the car park.

Species list – Little Grebe, Black-necked Grebe, Cormorant, Great White Egret, Little Egret, Cattle Egret, Spoonbill, Flamingo, Shelduck, Mallard, Pochard, White-headed Duck, Marsh Harrier, Kestrel, Red-legged Partridge, Coot, Red-knobbed Coot, Western Swamphen, Moorhen, Black-winged Stilt, Avocet, Ringed Plover, Black-tailed Godwit, Snipe, Yellow-legged Gull, Collared Dove, Crag Martin, Meadow Pipit, White Wagtail, Robin, Black Redstart, Stonechat, Cetti’s Warbler (HO), Chiffchaff, Iberian Grey Shrike, Spotless Starling, House Sparrow.
