Monastery, Lo Monte – Daniel Newton

posted in: Birders Reports | 0

I’m back in Spain for the week, so will drop you some reports.

Had an epic first full day yesterday. Highlight was around the old Monastery and adjacent tracks. At least eight Rollers, two Bee-eaters, five Iberian Grey Shrike, two Montagu’s Harriers, a Stone Curlew, a Turtle Dove and a Great Spotted Cuckoo. Also bumped into Greta Owen of the CBBC!

Just leaving Lagunas de Lo Monte now. An hour or so visit produced three Ferruginous Ducks, five Turtle Doves, two Little Ringed Plover and two Common Sandpipers.
