Mount Montgo – Mike Jeffrey

Here is a brief report from a trip I made yesterday around Mt Montgo at Javea.

A very nice five hour walk around and up the Western end of Mt Montgo gave sightings of Blue Rock Thrush, Black Wheatear, Choughs, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Peregrine, two  pairs of Ravens displaying and at least two raptors, a Buzzard and possibly a Bonnelli’s Eagle. They were very high so hard to identify. Also seen were all the usual small birds and lots of butterflies. The Flora on the mountain was quite beautiful too.
