Northumberland – November 2016

This blog entry is a little late but never mind. While we were ‘up north’ in November a short walk along the riverside between Warkworth and Amble enabled me to catch up with my favourite duck, Wigeon, which, although quite common I haven’t managed to see for quite a while. A Kingfisher flew along the river as I walked by, and in a field on the opposite side of the road I counted 32 Curlews, which I thought was pretty good. Various other species turned up during the few days we were there including; Golden Plover, Lapwing, Oystercatcher, Eider Duck and a few more.
