Pego Marshes – Nigel Bentley

posted in: Birders Reports | 0

I took a trip to Pego marshes this morning. Unfortunately, all the rice fields were bone dry, so not much on those. However, there were one or two raptors in the sky including several Marsh Harrier, a couple of Common Kestrel and one Short-toed Eagle. I also flushed a Green Sandpiper and saw my first Purple Heron on the year before it took flight. There were also Great Reed Warbler calling and Cetti’s Warbler present too.
