Rojales, El Pinet, Vistabella – Barry Chambers

Sunday 10th April – This evening a walk around Park Recorral, Rojales I saw a Woodchat Shrike, 30+Bee Eaters and 2 male Common Redstarts.

Monday 11th April – Today on a short dog walk from my villa I had my first Nightingale on the year plus a male Subalpine Warbler, Willow Warbler, Woodchat Shrike and an Iberian Green Woodpecker. 

Tuesday 12th April – Between the showers I visited El Pinet seeing 40+ Collared Pratincoles, good numbers of Common Terns, Stone Curlew plus 4 or 5 species of small waders. I then visited the first hide on the Vista Bella Road seeing 4 Black Terns, Great Reed Warblers, Reed Warblers, an Osprey on the nesting platform, plus huge numbers of mixed flocks of Swifts.
