San Felipe – Malcolm Palmer

Made the trip to the Visitors’ Centre this morning – the weather was too fine, therefore no hirundines, and hot work walking. Marbled Duck seemed to be taking possession of a nestbox, Western Swamphen are at infestation level, but Red-knobbed Coot are few and far between – saw only three. Very little else.  Greta and Paul were there, being led by a small brown animal & the rest of the human species present was a study in fashion. I saw people dressed to go to the beach in August, and a lady who appeared to be headed for the Lord Mayor’s ball.

Greta added this – It was good to see you out and about. The four Crane were in their usual place again. We were surprised at the lack of any raptors, we thought the conditions would be great for them!

Malcolm thought it would be nice to send some recent photos of the blossom trees near Tibi, for those of us stuck in the frozen UK. Very thoughtful of him I’m sure!
