Santa Pola area – Malcolm Palmer

A good trip around, filling in a lot of gaps (common stuff) on my year list. Nice Spotted Redshank at El Pinet, and there’s still a Knot on the salinas. The trick is to head North towards Santa Pola, past the curve by the tower, look for the gateway on the right, where you can pull in. There you can scope a lot of waders and gulls – today there were 6 species of gull and a wide variety of waders, including at least one Knot.
