This afternoon I spent 40 mins by the faro de Guardamar, apart from there being several thousand gulls, I also saw 17 Razorbills and 19 plus Northern Gannets.
Today I had my first sight of a Greater Spotted Eagle of the autumn – an adult, from the PFT, where I failed to find Barry’s Pallid Harrier of yesterday.
I walked along the track to the first hide by the Vista Bella Road ( hide not accessible at present) and saw 30 plus Common Waxbills. Along the PFT I observed a juv Pallid Harrier, it sat for 10 mins only 40 … Continued
The Common Waxbills have returned to the Segura between Rojales and Formentera, there were at least 10 probably more.
Between 12.45 and 2pm today from my balcony I observed 7/8 Lesser Kestrels feeding over the fields below my villa, plus 11 Booted Eagles, 1 Common Kestrel 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Black Redstarts plus many hundreds of Barn Swallows and House … Continued
I called in to the Clot, and had great views of a Water Rail, but not much else.
Practically nothing – only Dartford Warbler and Common Redstart of note. In addition Barry says he had Pallid Swifts and an Alpine Swift over his villa in Rojales.
Simon, recently sent in a photo and video taken in his garden near Yecla. I’ve added the photo and a still from the video of the bird. We think it is possibly a Goshawk.
On the Campo surrounding park Recorral there were four plus Common Redstarts, Subalpine Warbler a late Woodchat Shrike and 2 Thekla Larks. Back at home 2 more Booted Eagles passed over.
