Today we headed to the Saladares de Guadalentin. A great morning was had with 10 Turtle Doves, over 20 Stone Curlew, 10 Yellow Wagtails, 6 Little Bustards, Marsh Harrier and the Golden Eagle was on the pylon again being mobbed … Continued
On Tuesday we visited El Hondo the Vistabella Road, and El Molar again. We found a Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Osprey, 2 Rollers and dozens of Bee-eaters again. 60 Species seen.
On Monday we visited San Pedro del Pinatar where we found Ruff, Dunlin, Little Stint ,Sanderling and Ringed Plover. Lo Monte is closed for 2 weeks but outside we found Spotted Flycatchers, Nightingales, Green Sandpiper and White headed Duck.

We called in to San Pedro del Pinatar today and managed to capture these lovely Dunlin, Little Stint and Curlew Sandpiper (the latter two being new birds for us). Other recent photo opportunities have included Golden Oriole and Greater Flamingo.

Not the best of images but I have visited a site near Torremendo four times in the last 2 weeks. 100% sightings of the Golden Orioles, eight birds showing yesterday, the young have fledged, all images taken from the car.
Gary has sent in a selection of recent photos taken around the area. The Rollers were taken at the old monastery, the Collared Pratincoles were at El Pinet and the Redshank was at Santa Pola Salt Museum.
