A grand Wryneck hunt this morning in poor light at the Clot, with Bryan, John and Michelle. We found two or three birds, only one sat up for me but it was nice to see. We also found a photogenic Black Redstart. Also seen – the usual gang in the pools including of course Kingfishers, also a group of 5 Blackcap. Even better, we bumped into Malcolm Palmer, great to catch up with him, he had found a Common Redstart at the old dry hide, but it had gone when we looked for it! Also kudos to Bryan, who has done some badly-needed gardening at the front of the dry hide, much better area now for ground birds in front of the water, and worth a visit again.
