El Hondo fields – Malcolm Palmer

Had a stroke of luck today for once. No sign of the Surf Scoter, so I went to seek the Black-shouldered Kite. No sign of that either so went to the Vistabella hide, where I met up with Sergio briefly. No sooner had he gone than I had a Water Rail, then a pair of Booted Eagles, followed immediately by a Greater Spotted Eagle adult, then a Sparrowhawk. I returned then via the same road and at last saw the Black-shouldered Kite, just before a tractor scared it off!
