Guardarmar – Barry Chambers

posted in: Birders Reports | 0

At the lighthouse at Guardamar there were large numbers of Balearic Shearwaters some within 150 metres and a flock of 200+ were sitting on the water. Also seen 1 Great Skua, 1 Razorbill, several Gannets, Shag, huge flocks of gulls mainly Black-headed Gulls but also Mediterranean Gulls, Common Sandpiper and a Grey Wagtail. No sign of the Surf Scoter although it does spend a lot time diving so it could still be around.
