Sierra Espuña – Geoff Culliford

posted in: Birders Reports | 0

Yesterday we set off in the dark for Sierra Espuna. On the way up we stopped and heard Jays. By the visitor centre were Short-toed Treecreepers and Blue tits. The wind was picking up but we made our way to the top. Heading over to the ice houses we first found Rock Buntings, then about 20 Ring Ouzels and some Cirl Buntings. A Golden Eagle flew close by and then 3 Griffon Vultures. Also there were Redwing, Song and Mistle Thrush and Firecrests. Stopping on the way back down we found some Crossbills and then Barry, Rob and Kathy turned up who were good to see. A great day out.
