Vistabella Road – Malcolm Palmer

posted in: Birders Reports | 0

Had an all-too-brief shufti around the Vistabella area to try and replicate what Barry saw. No such luck, apart from a million Chiffchaffs and a few Marsh Harriers. But what I did see was a flock of 6-8 Skylarks, 4 Lapwings, a Buzzard and a female Hen Harrier. Also a chunky bird that disappeared before I got a decent look at it and didn’t reappear – looked very much like a Short-eared Owl – let’s see if anyone else reports one (off to the S of the PFT).
